Thank You for the 26th annual Reggae On The River!
On behalf of everyone at the Mateel Community Center, thank you for making the 26th annual Reggae On The River such a memorable experience. It was great to see so many friends and fans, old and new, who flocked to the event in droves and made for a positive and amazing vibe. It felt like we really turned a corner with this year’s festival and can now say without a doubt that Reggae On The River is back and getting stronger with each passing year. We heard many longtime fans say that this was one of the best ever, which was an honor to hear and gets us really excited to start work on Reggae On The River 2011. Major respect to all the artists who shared their music and words of wisdom with us, and kudos also to our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and ticket buying patrons whose support made the festival’s success possible.
RIP Sugar Minott
For those who have not heard, we regret to inform you that the great Lincoln Sugar Minott passed away on Saturday, July 10th. This is a great loss for Jamaica and the international reggae community and our hearts go out to all his friends, family, and fans. As a tribute to his ever-lasting musical legacy, the 26th annual Reggae On The River will be dedicated in his honor and will also feature an all-star finale to close off Sunday night Sugar-style!
Due to this unfortunate tragedy, Sugar’s daughter, Fire Pashon, will also not be performing at the festival. Because of this unforeseeable change of events, we now welcome the immensely talented, Prezident Brown, to the Reggae On The River line-up, along with a warm up set by Cali favorites, Reggae Angels. Please visit the artist page for the revised festival line-up on Sunday, July 18th. We appreciate your understanding and still look forward to a great show.
